About us

We are seeking to appoint an inspirational teacher to join a forward-looking and dynamic Maths team which is warm and friendly, with high expectations of everyone. The post is a full time, permanent position within the Maths department.

The successful candidate will join our popular and flourishing faculty, with a focus on innovation and sharing good practice. We are looking for teachers who have a genuine enthusiasm for teaching Maths and who have the ability to engage and motivate students. Arnold Hill Spencer Academy is inclusive and offers a range of pathway provisions to meet the needs of all learners, including those in mainstream and with lower than age-related reading and special educational needs. The role may include teaching in Key Stage 3 pathway provisions as well as mainstream classes. We welcome applications from both experienced and newly qualified teachers, including those with Key Stage 2 experience.

Desired Criteria

* Recent and relevant experience teaching Maths to post-16 students
* Knowledge of recent educational initiatives and issues
* Use of ICT as a curriculum tool to improve standards
* Maths or relevant subject Degree
* DfE recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE or equivalent
* Knowledge of the Secondary Curriculum
* Proficiency in ICT in the classroom
* Ability to inspire, motivate, and challenge students
* Ability to plan and deliver well-structured lessons achieving at least good, often outstanding, outcomes
* Ability to meet student targets
* Collaborative team working within the department
* Effective communication with students, parents, and colleagues with professionalism and respect
* Adaptability in teaching to meet diverse student needs
