Static Occupational Therapist, Band 6 Medical Team

An opportunity has become available to join Epsom and St. Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust as a static Band 6 Occupational Therapist within the Acute Therapies team. Occupational Therapy plays a vital role in the acute care setting, ensuring that patients experience a seamless and positive journey during their inpatient stay and beyond. Our Occupational Therapists collaborate closely with physiotherapy colleagues, the wider multidisciplinary team, and community partners. The team provides services across a diverse range of clinical areas, including respiratory, cardiac, elderly care, general medicine, and surgery. We are seeking a motivated and committed individual to join this static position at Epsom Hospital, with the opportunity to develop expertise in a specialist area and to support the Band 7 in team development activities. This role is suitable for an experienced Band 6 therapist or a Band 5 therapist aspiring to progress professionally through a developmental opportunity. Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for assessment, treatment planning and intervention delivery for patients referred to their caseload. The post holder will be required to supervise junior staff, technicians, assistants and students as appropriate. They will be expected to participate in development and monitoring of service standards and to assist in the running of the day to day service, and participate in the weekend working rota.
