Whether you’re already working in education and looking for your next role, or if you’re working in industry and looking to change your career path, we have an exciting opportunity for a Lecturer to join our growing Equine curriculum team, on a full time - fixed term basis as Maternity cover.

1. Sharing your knowledge to unlock potential whilst guiding our learners through their studies, you’ll work as part of the curriculum team to create and deliver lessons across a range of qualification levels, inspiring achievement and the best possible outcomes.

2. The successful candidate will be a team player, an excellent communicator, and able to maintain a proactive approach to managing deadlines, whilst retaining a high standard of delivery.

The Equine Unit at Hadlow has extensive facilities including two indoor arenas, a large outdoor arena and stabling for 64 horses. Teaching resources also include a horse walker, mechanical horse, anatomy models, tack and equipment for a range of disciplines, and an extensive range of scientific and practical teaching resources. We welcome regular guest speakers and experts from industry to enrich the department delivery and learner experience, these have included vets, nutritionists, emergency services, and the British Groom’s Association. You will have the opportunity to exercise College horses or bring your own horse on livery or loan.

You will be joining a diverse team of Equine Lecturers, Riding Instructors and Equine Grooms to provide excellent teaching, learning and assessment opportunities.

3. As part of the role, you’ll be required to prepare, teach, and assess at a variety of qualification levels, providing support and guidance to your learners as they progress through their studies.

4. You will also facilitate study tours to enhance the student study programme with previous trips including visits to Badminton Horse Trials, Lingfield Racecourse, New Forest, animal rescue and veterinary centres.

5. As part of the role, you will work closely with industry professionals to enhance the curriculum provision and employability of equine learners.

6. Sharing your knowledge to unlock potential whilst guiding our learners through their studies, you’ll have specialist knowledge of the curriculum area, which may be enhanced by any relevant industry / professional experience, as well as a formal qualification that underpins this knowledge.

7. Within the role you will inspire achievement and the best possible outcomes for our learners and the future of the equine industry.

The Role:

Where you’ll work: This role is based at our Hadlow campus.

Your hours: Up to 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per annum (1 FTE) – Fixed Term Contract – Maternity Cover

Your pay: £35,862 to £44,121 per annum full time equivalent, dependent on qualifications and experience.
