About the Role - Field Manager: IT / Telecoms
Location - Surrey / Sussex / London with extensive UK and European Travel
Package - Circa £40-£50,000 plus benefits.
Intelligent data linked to professional sports is here to stay, and the evolution of data in decision-making processes continues to grow.
We are working with a global sports technology leader to recruit an infrastructure-focused Field Manager who will oversee the deployment of next-generation technology in British football stadiums and eventually across European venues.
The equipment involves Apple IOS platforms and standard cable infrastructure. We seek supervisors/project engineers with a strong network infrastructure background and end-to-end subcontractor delivery experience to supervise technology partners across multiple sites.
The cabling (mainly outsourced to partners for Cat6) involves:
1. Attending venues
2. Carrying out surveys
3. Configuring routers and switches
4. Producing statements of works and documentation
5. Engaging contractors for cable infrastructure
6. Managing quotations and progress
7. Completing network installations
8. Checking equipment setup
9. Performing calibration and sign-off
10. Attending for future fault fixes and adjustments
Training on specific hardware will be provided, but routing and switching knowledge of typical networking equipment is assumed. Strong communication skills are essential for internal and external interactions, including issue triage.
This role combines supervision/site delivery with hands-on tasks when needed. Flexibility is crucial, as the role may involve significant travel within the UK and Europe (up to 50%), with expenses reimbursed.
Preferred locations include South London, Surrey, Hampshire, or West/East Sussex. Candidates must have a full driving license and own vehicle.
Some work occurs at heights (stadiums), so comfort with heights is necessary; climbing tickets are not required. Site management qualifications (e.g., CSCS, SSSTS) are a bonus but not essential.
Desired skills include routing and Slack familiarity. Work experience in IT Project Management, System Engineering, or NOC Engineering is preferred. English language proficiency is required.
