Location & Working Pattern
Roles will be required to work across one or more of our four localities: Wolverhampton, Sandwell, Dudley and Walsall. Jobs are Pan‑Trust.
Main Duties of the Job
Apply and develop your specialist psychological practice, delivering evidence‑based therapies (CBT, DBT, EMDR, ACT, CFT, CAT) to clients with complex mental health problems including CPTSD, personality disorders, psychosis, bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety and related conditions. Provide leadership, supervision and training in a multidisciplinary environment.
* Provide compassionate care for clients, carers and families.
* Promote a positive image of people with mental ill health or learning disabilities.
* Exercise supervisory and professional responsibility for other psychological therapists.
* Lead training and development, service audit, evaluation and research.
* Integrate a psychological perspective into service redesign and cultural change.
* Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and undertake lead practitioner responsibilities.
* Engage in complex multi‑agency working and liaise with multiple systems.
* Utilise psychometric tests competently and apply appropriate clinical governance mechanisms.
Person Specification
Education & Qualifications
* Post‑graduate doctoral level training in Applied Psychology (or equivalent) accredited by the BPS.
* HCPC registration as an Applied Psychologist.
* Evidence of continuing professional development.
* Post‑graduate qualification demonstrating supervised practice in an evidence‑based therapeutic model.
* Registration with the BPS.
Experience
* Experience working with mental health or learning disability clients, depending on designated service area.
* Multi‑disciplinary team working.
* Experience of CBT, DBT, psychodynamic therapy, systemic therapy.
* Experience of research and audit.
Knowledge
* Evidence‑based practice relevant to the role.
* Risk assessment and risk management.
* Clinical governance.
* Low‑level knowledge of legislation relevant to client groups and mental health.
* Ath and audit methodology.
* Social inclusion agenda.
* Awareness of the Trust's Quality Improvement System.
* Effective communication of complex and sensitive information.
* Creative adaptation of the evidence base for relevant interventions.
* Effective teaching, training, consultancy and clinical supervision within agreed timescales.
* Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and undertake care coordination/lead practitioner responsibilities.
* Complex multi‑agency working and liaising with multiple systems.
* Psychometric test utilisation.
* Provision of appropriate interventions for carers and staff exposed to highly distressing situations.
* Utilisation of clinical governance mechanisms within own work.

* Skill in using multimedia materials in presentations.
