Job Summary
IPS (Individual Placement and Support) is an evidence‑based approach to helping people with mental health conditions find and keep a paid job. At present, only around 8% of people receiving support from secondary mental health services are in paid employment, while studies suggest almost 90% of people with serious and enduring mental health conditions want to work.

Main Duties of the Job
You will support clients with job searching, completing CVs and application forms, interview preparation, and liaise with a range of employment and training programmes such as Job Centre Plus. You will develop knowledge and networks of employment‑related support services and inclusive employers within the local area, and secure paid employment opportunities for clients, including supporting employers and clients for up to one year once gained.

Job Responsibilities
• Establish ongoing monitoring and support systems for clients once employment is secured.
• Review employment to ensure it meets clients’ and employers’ needs.
• Offer support to employers and clients with any problems that may arise and promote disability awareness.
• Apply consistently high standards, possess knowledge of relevant legislation, and attend training as required.
• Work with a multidisciplinary team and maintain IPS supervision and clinical support. All responsibilities support a commitment to employment and social inclusion.
Person Specification
Essential Qualifications
* Numeracy and Literacy level 2 (or above)
* Minimum level 4 qualification related to IPS practice (e.g., Level 4 Certificate of Higher Education, higher apprenticeship, HNC, etc.) or, if not health or social care related, complete a care certificate within first 6 months.
* OR minimum of 2 years experience delivering employment support, health/social care support, or coaching/advice and guidance.

* Evidence of additional qualifications relevant to the role.

* Collaborate with MDT to provide effective service.
* Deliver employment support interventions competently.
* Communicate information verbally and in writing effectively.
* Adhere to Trust record keeping standards.

* Plan and organise caseload, prioritise effectively.
* Fully comply with statutory and mandatory training.
* Completed ‘Doing What Works’ IPS.
* Lead a group session/training or equivalent.
