Overview
Our Task Force Project Managers play an integral role in helping the team to achieve their vision, to enhance the environment through the dramatic reduction in spills and the need to use storm overflows.
You will contribute to the Catchment Risk Management Programme, ensuring projects conform to governance processes and are delivered on time and to appropriate standards. You will promote good practice in project planning and control, in collaboration with customers, the Catchment Risk Management Team, Procurement, and relevant governing bodies.
We are delivering a £45 million pathfinder programme which rapidly expands to £1.5 billion over the next 10 years. The programme is industry-leading, and we are expanding the team to deliver a larger programme of sustainable and innovative interventions to reduce the use of storm overflows.
Responsibilities
* Provide project management assistance and coordination to primarily the Catchment Risk Management Programme, ensuring governance, on-time delivery, and appropriate standards.
* Promote best practice in planning and control; collaborate with customers, the Catchment Risk Management Team, Procurement, and governing bodies.
* Manage interrelated project activities and ensure integration into the overall programme.
About You / Qualifications
* Tenacious, resilient, and resourceful with a passion for reducing storm overflows and improving the environment.
* Understanding of Health & Safety practice and law (desirable).
* Experience with forecasting, finance, and building programmes.
* Ability to juggle competing projects and plans; strong planning and scheduling skills.
* Ability to present clear reports and presentations under tight time pressures.
* Effective communications at all levels; strong influencing and persuasion skills to promote change and governance.
* Understanding of industry-wide best practice relating to project management.
* Experience dealing with contractors/suppliers.
Package
* Full-time, Monday to Friday with a 60/40 split between sites/field locations and home.
* Salary up to £55,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience.
