Plant Equipment/HGV Technician required in Swindon:
1. SALARY: Starting salary negotiable pending experience plus performance-related bonus providing a £50,000+ annual on-target earnings.

Our client, a franchise-approved commercial vehicle dealer group with multiple sites nationwide, is looking to hire a fully qualified and experienced Plant Equipment/HGV Technician for their busy Swindon dealership.
Reporting to the Workshop Controller and working as part of a friendly team, as a Plant Equipment/HGV Technician, your key objectives will include:
4. Performing major and minor repairs to plant equipment as well as heavy goods vehicles, trailers and other vehicles as required.
5. Carrying out PDI works and attachment set-up on plant equipment.
6. Mobile repair and maintenance of plant equipment.
7. Performing regular inspections and general preventive maintenance services according to machine hours and schedules.
8. Maintaining inventory in the service vehicle and ensuring cleanliness from oil spills and dust.
9. Working with other departments, including the sales team, to ensure a quality and reliable service level is provided to customers.
10. Working with repair teams to help diagnose and plan repairs for machines/vehicles.
11. Maintaining records of machines/vehicles that have been repaired or handled.
12. Completing relevant documentation and paperwork as required and providing warranty claims according to manufacturer requirements or escalating them to higher management.
13. Providing in-house training to recruits and trainees as required.
14. Carrying out your role with quality, compliance and health and safety always at the forefront of what you do.
To be eligible, you need to be qualified to IMI/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in either Plant Equipment or Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair, and ideally hold at least 1 to 2 years of practical experience post qualification. You will need to be a committed individual and a good team player. You must be able to produce high-quality work in a busy workshop environment and be motivated to work towards targets set for your team. You will need to have a current, full UK driving licence for the relevant vehicle and machinery classes.
