The Role We are looking for an experienced and proactive Senior Policy Analyst to lead policy development, shape national debates, and influence decision-makers across the water sector. You will identify policy gaps, develop evidence-based solutions, lead campaigns, manage a small team of analysts, and represent CCW with senior stakeholders. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys research, strategic thinking, and influencing at senior levels. This position is available across three specialist routes : ? Social Policy (affordability, vulnerability, consumer protection) ? Regulation (price reviews, regulatory reform, market oversight) ? Non-Household (business retail market codes, market improvement) Generalist routes are also available for candidates with broad policy experience. Key Responsibilities Lead and line-manage a team of policy analysts Develop, deliver and review CCW's policy positions and long-term strategy Identify policy gaps and propose practical, evidence-based solutions Use data, research and insights to influence regulators, governments and companies Provide expert input into price reviews, legislation and regulatory frameworks Produce high-quality briefings, consultation responses and Board/Executive papers Represent CCW at meetings, industry panels, conferences and media engagements Build strong relationships with external stakeholders (Ofwat, Defra, water companies, NGOs) Support CCW campaigns and respond quickly to emerging issues or opportunities About You Essential Skills & Experience Proven experience researching, analysing and synthesising complex data and evidence Strong policy development experience — from concept to implementation Experience managing projects or leading policy initiatives Line management or team leadership experience Ability to think strategically and apply sound judgement Excellent communication skills — written, verbal and presentation Confident influencing senior stakeholders and representing an organisation externally Able to manage competing priorities and deliver at pace Desirable Experience in the water industry or a regulated sector Understanding of the non-household retail market (for NHH roles) Experience delivering regulatory or legislative change Why Join CCW?
