Overview

Personal Assistant position to support a young adult with complex needs in Worthing. Location: Worthing. Hourly pay rate: £15.00. Hours per week: TBD. Driving licence and own vehicle required.


Details

This role is to support a son who requires one-to-one support throughout the day due to life-changing conditions including cerebral palsy, epilepsy, and visual impairment.

We are a supportive family seeking someone kind, reliable, and experienced to provide physical assistance and emotional support, helping with independence and well-being.


Responsibilities

* Eating and drinking assistance
* Moving and handling
* Personal care including showering, dressing, and toileting
* Bathroom assistance
* Administration
* Shopping
* Transportation and taking him on day trips or to shops
* Dressing / undressing
* Supporting daily routines and outings
* General support and companionship, offering reassurance and structure


Qualifications and Requirements

* Experience supporting individuals with additional physical and learning needs
* Willingness to be trained in manual handling; experience is advantageous
* Comfortable with travel and outdoor outings
* Must be comfortable with pets
* Good English reading and speaking skills
* Reliable with good timekeeping
* Respectful of privacy and confidentiality
* Hygienic, tidy, well-organised, and capable of maintaining high health and safety standards
* Patient, honest, cheerful, and creative


Notes and Requirements

* All applicants must have the right to work in the UK
* Willingness to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check if required
* Role may be engaged directly or via the employer; can be employed or self-employed depending on agreement
* If employed, holiday pay and an employment contract are provided
