Pensions Actuarial Consultant - Nationwide
We are looking for Pensions Actuarial Consultants to join our team and provide high quality support and advice to our clients, ensuring scheme members receive benefits as planned.
As a Pensions Actuarial Consultant, you will work in a team to develop and deliver customised advice and solutions to trustees and corporates, focusing on DB pension schemes. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues in funding, investment, risk transfer and covenant to bring the best solutions to clients.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead client meetings and presentations
* Provide informed views on current topics based on client circumstances, tailoring advice as appropriate
* Utilise strong technical actuarial skills to consult clients on technical topics
* Communicate with clients in a clear and succinct manner
* Act as final technical reviewer for actuarial calculations
* Agree strategy, direction, and resourcing for client work
* Supervise, appraise and mentor employees under supervision, or provide informal feedback on client work
* Participate in setting and negotiating fees, where appropriate, and monitor fee budgets
Required Qualifications and Experience
* Fully qualified Actuary or nearing qualification
* Excellent communication skills, strong analytical, numerical, and critical thinking skills; good understanding of actuarial approaches for pensions
* Ability to manage projects, including distribution of work to junior colleagues
* Good understanding of a range of ways in which UK pension schemes operate
Preferred Experience
* Significant experience working with trustees and/or corporates on DB pensions within an actuarial consultancy role
* Excellent communication skills
* Demonstrated business acumen, adaptability and a desire to be in front of clients, underpinned by required technical skills

Marsh is committed to hybrid work, offering flexibility of working remotely and collaboration in the office. All colleagues are expected to work onsite with clients at least three days per week, with at least one “anchor day” per week for the full team to meet in person.
