CCN Specialist Teacher Salary: TMS or UPS SEN ALLOWANCE Contract Type: Temporary initially; suitable for self-employed or supply Working Pattern: Flexible (2 days, 13 hours per week) Closing Date: 15.00 on Wednesday 10 December 2025 Interview date: TBC Start date: 01 January 2026 The CCN Team at Chadsgrove SEND Services for your School are seeking to appoint an inspirational and highly motivated specialist teacher. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a forward-thinking, innovative service that is passionate about raising standards and increasing opportunities for the pupils we support in our mainstream partnership schools. We are looking for an exceptional practitioner to work within our Complex Communication Needs (CCN)/Autism Team. The successful candidate will communicate and collaborate effectively with our mainstream partnership schools, providing specialist assessments, advice, and support to help them meet the needs of pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). You will work closely with a wide range of professionals, offering assessments, information, advice, and training to enable pupils to access and thrive within mainstream education. Main Activities and Responsibilities: This role involves conducting comprehensive assessments for statutory, diagnostic, and school-based purposes with children and young people (CYP) who have autism and complex communication needs. You will play a key role in supporting the Local Authority’s Graduated Response, offering expert guidance and working collaboratively with schools, SENCOs, and other professionals to develop and implement effective strategies and interventions. Core responsibilities include: Undertaking observations and assessments in both school and home settings, producing clear and informative reports for a range of audiences Delivering training on Complex Communication Needs and associated areas Promoting inclusion and improving outcomes through collaborative, multi-agency approaches Managing casework efficiently, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring effective communication Designing and delivering professional development and contributing to ongoing team improvement initiatives Keeping up to date with evidence-based practice in autism education and intervention Ensuring adherence to performance targets, safeguarding procedures, and data protection regulations Supporting income generation and contributing to the financial sustainability of the service This is a peripatetic role, requiring travel across Worcestershire. Flexible working arrangements are available, with some aspects of the role suitable for home-based work.
