HR Analyst / Assistant HR Business Partner
£45,000 - £48,000 + generous travel benefits and leave entitlement
12 Month Fixed Term Contract (FTC), until May 2026

This is really exciting development opportunity for a driven HR professional to join this unique programme team responsible for the design and delivery of a people strategy that will enable the future of Great British Rail.
We are looking for a dynamic HR graduate, as a HR Analyst / Assistant HR Business Partner to join the Business Development and Design Team and help shape and prepare for the launch of high-speed services across the UK. This role will be responsible for coordinating HR and OD research and analysis, as well as supporting this strategic project with:
* Business Structure & Workforce Staffing Plans: the design and develop the new organisation structure, job roles, and Terms & Conditions
* Research: Conduct HR and OD research on leadership, talent management, and best practices.
* Workforce Planning: Develop long-term training and development strategies.
* Benchmarking: Perform bench marking and analysis to support initiatives.
* Workshops: Facilitate workshops with subject matter experts.
* T&Cs: Develop and implement terms and conditions and working practices.
* Talent and Engagement: Focus on EVP, leadership engagement, and talent management.
* Data Analysis: Gather, interpret, and present HR/OD data.
Based between London and Birmingham, this hybrid role will offer exposure and visibility across a variety of sites. With train travel covered, this role will require weekly travel between the two hubs approximately 3 days a week, whilst having flexibility for this post to be contracted to either head office.
To be successful in this role, the preferred candidate should be a quick learner and self-starter, able to build relationships with a range of stakeholders internally and externally, and use their initiative to drive progress on the project deliverables. They would also benefit from having;
* HR experience within complex, unionised environments be that across the Public Sector, Rail, Transport, Logistics, Aviation or Regulation.
* Experience working within a project environment
* CIPD Level 3 / working towards Level 5/7
* Strong Microsoft Skills - Particularly PowerPoint and Excel.
