DC Flooring (UK) Ltd are specialists in industrial and commercial flooring, with a strong focus on high-tolerance concrete grinding, resin flooring, and polished concrete systems. We are market leaders in preparing floors for robotics and VNA warehousing, using advanced equipment such as profilographs, laser-guided survey tools, and other floor testing equipment.
As part of our continued expansion, we are seeking a Junior Surveyor to join our growing team, based in either the Essex or Midlands area, supporting projects across the UK and Europe.
About the Role
You'll play a key role in ensuring the precision and quality of high-tolerance flooring projects. Working closely with contracts managers, grinding teams, and clients, you'll carry out floor surveys, collect and interpret data, and contribute to the delivery of world-class robotic warehousing solutions. This role involves regular travel throughout the UK and Europe, so flexibility, a sense of adventure, and a valid passport are essential. Knowledge of a European language (e.g. German, French, Spanish, Dutch) would be a strong advantage.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out floor surveys using profilographs, optical level equipment, and related tools.
* Record, process, and interpret survey data using AutoCAD or similar software.
* Produce structured survey reports for contracts managers and clients.
* Work alongside site teams to identify and mark areas requiring correction.
* Ensure compliance with relevant standards (TR34, DIN 18202, AMR/VNA specifications).
* Maintain survey instruments and assist with troubleshooting.
* Adhere to all Health & Safety requirements and use correct PPE.
* Travel extensively across the UK and Europe.
Requirements
Essential:
* At least 1 year of surveying or site measurement experience (construction, civil, or industrial environment).
* Proven ability to use optical level equipment and accurately record site data.
* Working knowledge of AutoCAD or similar CAD software (training provided for advanced features).
* Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and a methodical approach to work.
* Good numerical and analytical skills.
* Reliable, organised, and communicative.
* Willingness to travel frequently across the UK and Europe.
* Clean UK driving licence and valid passport.
Desirable:
* Experience using profilographs or floor flatness measuring systems.
* Knowledge of TR34, DIN 18202, or VNA/robotics flooring standards.
* IT/data entry skills (Excel, Airtable, Simpro, etc.).
* Surveying qualification such as HNC/HND, BTEC, or NVQ Level 3+ in Construction, Civil Engineering, or Surveying.
* Fluency or working knowledge of a European language (e.g., German, French, or Spanish).
* Prior experience in construction, civil engineering, or flooring sectors.
