We are working with a well-established business based near Nelson who are looking for an experienced Management Accountant to join them in this newly created position. The business is highly respected within their niche sector and produces high quality and designs, while maintaining the highest quality of customer service.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual who wishes to join the business in this newly created role, as the company brings the accounts in-house from their accountants. This is a role where you can make an impact and be able to make the role your own, assisting with the month end reporting, while at the same time becoming an integral part of the wider team.
Responsibilities of the Management Accountant will include:
Fully responsible for the monthly reporting pack and associated commentary for the Directors.
Manage the daily cashflow and bank reconciliations.
Establish a tighter credit control while building effective collection and solid customer relationships.
Manage the accuracy around the nominal ledger reconciliations and all the purchase/sales ledger postings.
Manage the invoicing facility and adhere to appropriate timeframes.
Develop month end reporting pack to include variances and KPIs, incorporating sales, budgets and revenue targets.
Establish an deeper understanding of the customer base, looking at sales, uplifts and margin.
Work closely with internal managers to control costs/internal expenditure, developing accountability and budgetary control.
Supervise a small finance team and work closely with the admin support team.
Already you will have the following attributes:
AAT Technician or CIMA/ACCA Qualified preferred
Minimum 3 years accounting experience with the MA reporting pack
Strong attention to detail and excellent numerical skills
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage)
Must be able to attend the office daily.
Ideally used to working within an Owner Managed business.
