My Clients mission is to stay at the forefront for Electronics, Electrical and Mechanical Materials Obsolescence continues an exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Components team and lend your expertise.
You'll play a critical role in managing and mitigating the risks associated with obsolescence in the product lifecycle. The role demands a passionate professional who can drive innovative solutions to ensure the long-term availability and reliability of components.
The role resides within Electronic Engineering an area of the client that has an opportunity to engage with all stakeholders across the business from our Projects, Supply Chain, Procurement, Customer Service Support and many more. You will be accountable for delivering Obsolescence management reactively and proactively as required using industry standard techniques in line with IEC62402 as well as looking to develop the internal standard for Obsolescence Management to suit the requirement of our ever-evolving business needs.
Having previous experience or exposure to Component Engineering or Technical Procurement in an engineering or manufacturing environment, you will be charged with monitoring incoming alerts and processing the data into our Product Lifecycle Management tool as well as working with Projects to ensure proactive activities take place to minimise the business risk profile.
The Component Engineering team you will be a part of, has been vital to our product delivery by providing highly sought after subject matter expertise when it comes to the individual's relevant commodity experience. The team operates from both Stevenage and Bolton sites, representing a diverse group of friendly supportive colleagues who pull together when needed to achieve our mission.
What we're looking for from you:
* STEM Degree (preferably in an Engineering discipline) or relevant experience
* In-depth knowledge of component lifecycles, including end-of-life considerations and strategies for managing obsolescence
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools, with a predominate focus on Excel
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with diverse teams
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently
* An intermediate knowledge of Electronics, Electrical or Mechanical Materials will be advantageous
