Are you passionate about supporting young people with additional needs? A welcoming and highly supportive specialist secondary provision in the Frome area is seeking a committed Teaching Assistant to join their team immediately. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a nurturing environment where staff are dedicated to helping every student thrive. This well-respected specialist setting supports students aged 11–18 who have a range of Special Educational Needs, including: Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH), Communication and interaction difficulties and Additional learning needs linked to confidence and emotional regulation. The school focuses on individualised learning, emotional wellbeing, and building independence, creating a calm and supportive space where students can develop academically and personally.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to support students in both classroom learning and personal development.

* Supporting students during lessons and structured activities

* Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement with learning

* Helping prepare learning resources and adapting tasks where required

* Building strong, supportive relationships with students

* Promoting confidence, independence, and emotional wellbeing

* Monitoring and reporting on student progress to teaching staff

Who We’re Looking For

* Experience supporting SEN or vulnerable young people (preferred)

* A patient, positive and resilient attitude

* Strong communication and teamwork skills

* A genuine passion for helping young people succeed

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
