Reporting directly to the Microbiology Projects Lead, responsible for advancing the implementation of innovative and rapid microbiology technologies to enhance patient care and support the GSK pipeline. These cutting-edge technologies will uphold data integrity, align with GSK quality standards, and facilitate regulatory submissions, ensuring the delivery of high-quality medicines to patients.

In this role you will…

* Support validation, implementation, and routine use of new microbiology technologies (e.g., automated colony counting, bacterial endotoxins testing, rapid identification tools) for pharmaceutical product testing and manufacturing environments.
* Author procedures, protocols, and reports while providing training to enable the transfer of new technologies into routine QC testing and ensure compliance with GMP standards.
* Lead investigations using problem-solving tools, ensure effective CAPA, and maintain operations compliant with regulatory and quality requirements.
* Collaborate with R&D and external groups to streamline technology transfers and provide validation data for regulatory submissions.
* Represent technical expertise in audits, support audit readiness activities, and apply GPS and Change Control tools in project management.
* Follow safe laboratory practices, ensure training, and maintain accurate safety records aligned with company policies and legal requirements.

Why you?

Basic Qualifications & Skills:

* HNC/HND in a science or related discipline.
* Strong industry experience
* An understanding of the theoretical and practical aspects of Pharmaceutical Microbiology (knowledge of rapid/alternative methodologies an advantage). Demonstrated hands-on and/or practical experience in microbiological analysis of pharmaceutical products, such as sterility, bioburden, microbial limits mycoplasma and bacterial endotoxins testing, and environmental monitoring.
* Capacity to think innovatively and flexibly for new microbiology methodology implementation; comfortable with complexity.
* Experience with GMP laboratory operations and in microbiology method and equipment development and/or validation.
* Knowledge of biological and pharmaceutical product manufacturing and microbial control and experience with FDA regulations

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

* Master’s BSc in a science-based discipline.
