The Opportunity
The company is seeking a Vice President of Business Development to join its London team, with a focus on expanding relationships and driving new business growth within UK building societies and Tier 2 banks. This is a high-impact individual contributor (IC) role suited to a commercially astute, well-networked professional who can open doors, navigate complex client organisations, and build strategic partnerships.
Please note: This role is based five days per week in the London office or on client site, reflecting the relationship-driven and consultative nature of the position.
Key Responsibilities
* Identify, engage, and secure new business opportunities across UK building societies and Tier 2 banks.
* Develop and execute go-to-market strategies to position the company’s digital and cloud-native financial solutions effectively.
* Build long-term, trust-based relationships with senior decision-makers, including C-level executives.
* Collaborate cross-functionally with product, delivery, and marketing teams to ensure successful client outcomes.
* Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and client meetings to enhance market presence.
* Maintain an in-depth understanding of the financial services landscape, including regulatory and digital transformation trends.
Experience & Qualifications
* 15+ years of experience across financial services, fintech, or consulting.
* Strong network and proven track record of business development within building societies and Tier 2 banking clients in the UK.
* Previous experience in strategy or business consulting with a leading firm (Big 3 or Big 4) is highly advantageous.
* Deep understanding of the technology and operational challenges facing financial institutions today.
* Experience engaging with executive stakeholders and managing complex sales cycles.
* Background or familiarity with AI-driven platforms is a strong plus but not essential.
* Self-starter with excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
