About the Role
The Senior Supervisor plays a key leadership role within the Production and Communications Team at Trent Vineyard. Working closely with the Senior Manager, this post oversees external communications and production for key church events, including Sunday services.
This role requires a creative, highly organised and technically skilled leader who can manage multiple projects, oversee staff and volunteers and ensure consistently high standards across all media and event output.
The ideal candidate will be a confident and experienced communicator with a strong grasp of multi-channel communications, including social media, email, websites and video platforms. They will be capable of managing both people and projects and skilled in overseeing live production and event planning.
With strong interpersonal skills, the successful candidate must work effectively across multiple teams, including the senior leadership team and remain calm and adaptable under pressure. Technically competent and media-savvy, they can manage digital tools and support creative content production. They thrive in dynamic environments and are comfortable working flexibly, including outside standard office hours when required.
The Senior Supervisor must have a strong understanding of Trent Vineyard’s vision, values and hallmarks, and should embody and communicate them both in their work and wider church life. As part of an active Christian faith, they will seek to live out these values daily. It is essential that they consistently demonstrate respect and honour toward the Senior Leadership Team and Trustees of Trent Vineyard.
Key Responsibilities
Communications
* Lead on the day-to-day external communications at Trent Vineyard, supported by the Communications Assistant.
* Plan and schedule social media content across Instagram and Facebook.
* Advise and support ministry teams managing their own social media presence, where required.
* Develop and deliver communications plans for major events (e.g. Christmas and Easter).
* Maintain and update the Trent Vineyard and Trent Compassion websites.
* Ensure consistency and quality across our podcast platforms (SoundCloud, Apple, Spotify) and video channels (YouTube, Vimeo).
* Support the Communications Assistant in preparing and distributing weekly Mailchimp emails.
* Manage targeted mailings for key ministries (e.g. Leaders or Small Group Leaders).
* Work with the Design Supervisor and Senior Manager to produce high-quality printed and digital assets.
* Ensure consistent brand messaging and tone across all communication channels.
Events
* Oversee Production Teams for Sunday services.
* Lead planning and logistics for large and small-scale events, including Carol Services, Carols by Candlelight, Christmas Market, Closer (Maundy Thursday), Easter Sunday, Vision Sunday, Birthday Services, Baptisms, Alpha Launch Nights, Staff Days, Leaders Meetings, Leaders Day and the Vineyard Leaders’ Gathering.
* Liaise with ministry leaders to support their communications and production needs.
* Attend and supervise production for key staff and leadership meetings.
* Coordinate volunteer recruitment and team logistics for national events e.g. Cause To Live For and Vineyard Leaders’ Gathering.
Leadership and Administration
* Line management responsibility for at least two direct reports.
* Deputise for the Senior Manager when required.
* Oversee team planning, rotas and holiday scheduling.
* Serve as ChurchSuite Champion – providing expertise and support for staff using the platform.
* Contribute to annual team enrichment plans (training, team days, away days, etc.).
* Assist with emergency communications when required (in liaison with senior leadership).
* Liaise with Vineyard national communications contacts as needed.
* Attend bi‑weekly Sunday’s meetings to keep up to date with information relating to Sunday services.
* Oversee budgets – £8‑10k per financial year.

Experience and Qualifications
* Proven experience in a senior communications and/or events supervision role.
* Experience in faith‑based or charity communications (desirable).
* Demonstrated ability to plan and deliver events of varying scale.
* Confident managing teams, volunteers and multiple stakeholders.
* Experience using Mac systems, Adobe Creative Suite, and CMS platforms.
* Familiarity with and a good understanding of AV technology.
* Qualification in Communications, Events Management, or similar (desirable).
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Suite, and website CMS.
Other requirements
* Active, practicing Christian* with a clear commitment to Trent Vineyard’s vision, values and ethos.
* Regular attendee and active participant at Trent Vineyard.
* Holds the legal right to work in the United Kingdom.
* Willing to work Sundays and occasional evenings/weekends.
* Willing to undergo a DBS check if required.
* Loyal and respectful toward the Senior Leadership Team and Trustees.
* A full UK driving license is beneficial, but not essential.
