Full time, permanent position 36 hours per week Mondays to Fridays. Term time only (39 weeks per year). Start date: as soon as possible. Salary: Scale points 17 to 22. Full time equivalent salary range: £34,998pa to £37,692pa (Actual pro ratad salary range: £31,605pa to £34,039pa).
About the role
We are looking to appoint a confident individual to support students at The Hollyfield School in achieving their full potential. We value students’ mental health and wellbeing and understand that high quality pastoral care is essential for strong academic progress. The role of a Student Support Officer (SSO) is important in ensuring our students feel safe and happy at school. This is an opportunity for an experienced colleague or someone with the right skills set to make a real difference to the lives of the young people in our community. You will also assist with key administrative tasks, ensuring our students receive the right support in a timely manner. The successful candidate will be an integral part of our pastoral team, working closely with the Heads of Year, SENCo and Senior Leadership Team, and with our students. They will help students navigate and deal with their problems as they arise and will contribute to our ongoing pastoral priorities.
As part of the role, the SSO will have opportunities to provide intervention strategies around behaviour management, mental health and wellbeing, positive self-image, dealing with trauma and restorative approaches.
Responsibilities
* Support students to achieve their full potential and contribute to their wellbeing.
* Work as part of the pastoral team with Heads of Year, SENCo and Senior Leadership Team.
* Provide timely assistance to ensure students receive the right support.
* Develop and deliver intervention strategies related to behaviour management, mental health and wellbeing, positive self-image, dealing with trauma and restorative approaches.
* Assist with administrative tasks related to pastoral care where required.
Requirements / Qualifications
* Confident individual with the skills to support students and address their needs.
* Experience in pastoral work or the ability to demonstrate the relevant skills set.
* Ability to work collaboratively with the Heads of Year, SENCo, and Senior Leadership Team.
