Morgan McKinley are seeking a detail-oriented Finance Officer/Assistant to support an Academy Trust in South London. This is a critical role ensuring the smooth day-to-day financial operations of the school, beginning as a temporary contract with the intent to transition into a permanent position. This role is paying £20 - £22 ph DOE and will be fully on site. Key Requirements & Qualifications Compliance: Must hold an enhanced DBS check. Technical Proficiency: A solid understanding of core accounting principles is non-negotiable. You must be able to demonstrate knowledge of: Trial Balances Accrued Income & Expenses Deferred Income Systems: Experience with IRIS Financials is preferred. However candidates with strong experience in any finance system, provided they have the aptitude to learn new software quickly. Core Responsibilities Supporting the Head of Finance with monthly reporting and year-end preparations. Managing journals, prepayments, and accruals. Assisting with the maintenance of the school's trial balance. General ledger maintenance and ensuring all income is correctly deferred or accrued according to the academic year.
