This is a senior engineering leadership opportunity inside a large-scale enterprise SaaS business delivering mission-critical, cloud-native products used at serious scale across the UK.
You will take ownership of a high-profile digital platform that processes significant daily transactional volume and underpins core commercial operations. The product is central to the organisation’s long-term modernisation strategy.
This is not maintenance engineering.
This is platform evolution.
The Role
You will operate as a hands-on Lead Engineer, leading a tight, high-calibre team of 4 engineers within a modern product-led environment.
You will:
* Drive technical direction and engineering standards
* Architect scalable, secure cloud-native solutions
* Lead by example through hands-on delivery
* Mentor and elevate developers and QA engineers
* Collaborate closely with Product, Architecture and Delivery
* Own quality, performance, resilience and security
This is leadership with credibility — not leadership from the sidelines.
The Tech Environment
* .NET 8 / C# 14
* Azure cloud (cloud-native, managed services first)
* React / TypeScript
* SQL Server / Entity Framework
* REST APIs
* CI/CD (GitHub Actions preferred)
* Event-driven architecture
* Test automation & shift-left principles

* Proven experience leading engineering teams in Agile environments
* Strong .NET and Azure background
* Experience designing highly scalable, resilient, secure systems
