Position Overview

Ensuring the safety, quality, and compliance of electrical and telecommunications assets across TXO Group and client sites:

* Record inspection and testing results on certificates or reports.
* Maintain premises, equipment, documentation, and records for NICEIC inspection.
* Safeguard unused NICEIC forms of certification and report any loss, theft, or misuse.
* Audit all Lynx (a TXO Group company) and contract electricians as well as competent telco engineers to ensure safe working practices.
* Onsite electrical equipment isolation, de‑installation, and installation of DC power systems and battery banks.
* Maintain electrical installations at Lynx premises.


Specific Responsibilities

* Audit Lynx and contract electricians, and telco engineers for safe working practices and documented safety audits.
* Stop unsafe work and report accordingly.
* Update electrical staff training records and carry out employee appraisals as per company procedures.
* Isolate DC feeds to telecoms equipment, battery banks, and 240v rectifier systems; recover redundant power cable systems; strip tenant‑installed electrical systems back to Landlord LV; de‑install fire and intruder alarm systems; re‑install lighting; install, test, and certify AC & DC systems; install DC racks, batteries, and rectifiers; decouple and isolate generator changeover systems; de‑install and isolate air‑cooling systems and controls; de‑gas and de‑install air‑cooling systems (if qualified).
* Assist mechanical telecoms de‑installation: recover telecommunications equipment, mechanical disconnection and movement of telecommunications equipment, electrical and optical disconnection of large telecoms systems, and installation of telecoms systems.
* Complete annual PAT testing, install new equipment into test labs, carry out any electrical maintenance requirements, and install new and upgrade existing installations.


Experience and Qualifications

* Leading teams and managing others.
* Telecoms/IT technical environment experience (beneficial), industrial DC power systems experience, fire and intruder alarm systems decommissioning experience.
* Manual handling, teamwork, exposure to business processes and procedures.
* Security clearance and client H&S inductions; ESD handling; quality system training.
* Independent worker, good team player, initiative, accuracy, attention to detail, flexible approach, ability to work under pressure, PC skills (Word and Excel), physical strength, ability to handle equipment.


Working Conditions & Travel

Mostly offsite, driving to client sites in the UK and Europe; completion of electrical de‑installations with lifting and carrying of equipment and tools.


Education & Certification

* 5 GCSEs including Maths and English; NVQ level 3 & AM2; City & Guilds 2391 Testing & Inspection; BS7671; current ECS/JIB gold card.
* Full UK driving licence.


Desirable Certifications

* FGAS qualification; IPAF Mobile Elevating Work Platforms; PASMA Tower certificate; health & safety training.
