Health & Safety Manager We're looking for an experienced, proactive Health & Safety Manager to lead and manage health, safety, environmental, and quality (HSEQ) compliance across our business, and to support and maintain our Integrated Management System (IMS). This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring that all company operations and projects are delivered safely, compliantly, and in line with current legislation and best practice. The successful candidate will play a central role in maintaining compliance with ISO 45001, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001, and in supporting project teams by preparing Construction Phase Plans (CPPs) and full project health & safety documentation. You will work closely with the project and site teams to ensure all legal and procedural requirements are in place before project commencement and maintained throughout delivery. The role also includes conducting regular site audits, managing incident reporting and safety communications, driving continuous improvement, and providing clear performance reporting to senior leadership. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the companys health, safety and environmental strategy across all projects and operational activities. Ensure compliance with all relevant UK health & safety legislation, including construction industry regulations and best practice standards. Provide expert advice and support to project managers, site managers, and operational teams on health & safety matters. Promote and embed a positive, proactive health & safety culture throughout the organisation. Prepare and issue Construction Phase Plans (CPPs) for all projects prior to commencement. Ensure they comply with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM). Ensure project-specific risk assessments, method statements, and supporting health & safety documentation are incorporated into project packs. Advise on the resolution of health & safety issues arising on site. Carry out formal health & safety audits across all projects using NEBOSH-based auditing standards. Monitor corrective actions and ensure findings are closed out within agreed timescales. Support continuous improvement in site safety performance and standards. Track and manage all health & safety incidents, accidents, near misses, and good catches across the business. Analyse trends and provide insight to improve overall safety performance. Coordinate and monitor toolbox talks across all live projects. Ensure regular safety briefings and communications are delivered effectively to site teams. Encourage proactive hazard reporting and recognition of positive safety behaviours. Prepare a monthly Health & Safety performance report. Support and maintain the companys Integrated Management System (IMS). Ensure continued compliance with: ISO 9001 Quality Management, ISO 14001 Environmental Management and ISO 45001 Occupational Health & Safety Management Coordinate internal and external ISO audits. Support the delivery, implementation, and monitoring of training programmes for site teams and management. Ensure training records, certifications, and competency records are maintained and up to date. Skills & Competencies Strong knowledge of UK/ROI construction health & safety legislation Excellent understanding of CDM Regulations Experience implementing, managing, and improving ISO management systems Strong auditing, inspection, and compliance management skills Excellent reporting, documentation, and organisational ability Ability to influence and support project teams, site teams, and operational staff Strong analytical and problem-solving capability Excellent communication and presentation skills Proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to continuous improvement Experience & Qualifications NEBOSH Construction Certificate (or equivalent) Minimum 5 years experience in a health & safety role within a fast-paced contractor or fit-out environment Strong experience preparing and reviewing Construction Phase Plans (CPPs)/Safe System of Works Experience managing health & safety compliance across multiple live projects Experience conducting audits and managing compliance programm Driving license Why Join Us?
