Job Summary
Anord Mardix, a Flex company, are a global group that manufactures switchgear and associated products for installation in mission-critical and live commercial buildings ranging from data centres to the international headquarters of some of the world’s largest companies.
To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Site EHS Manager EMEA, located in the UK. This role can be based at any of our UK locations, Kendal, Blackburn, Preston or Hemel Hempstead.
Reporting to the Global EHS Director, the Site EHS Manager EMEA will be part of an excellent Global EHS team with the responsibility for developing, implementing and overseeing the organisations EHS programmes and initiatives at site level. This role ensures compliance with all relevant environmental, health and safety regulations and promotes a culture of safety and sustainability across all site-based operations within the EMEA region.
This role requires regular travel throughout the UK and the wider EMEA region.
What a typical day looks like
1. HSEMS Implementation & Structure: Lead the development and deployment of the new Critical Power Health, Safety & Environmental Management System (HSEMS), ensuring robust processes and governance across all sites and field operations.
2. Team Building & Leadership: Build and mentor a high-performing EHS team, fostering collaboration and accountability to deliver measurable improvements in safety culture and compliance.
3. Process Design & Continuous Improvement: Establish standardized processes and workflows that align with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001, driving consistency and operational excellence across the region.
4. Site & Customer Engagement: Conduct regular site and customer visits to strengthen relationships, promote safety engagement, and ensure alignment with organizational standards and client expectations.
5. Regulatory Compliance: Monitor and ensure adherence to all applicable EHS regulations and standards, proactively addressing changes in legislation and industry best practices.
6. Risk Management: Perform comprehensive risk analysis and implement mitigation strategies to reduce hazards and protect employees and customers.
7. Training & Development: Design and deliver targeted EHS training and awareness programs to build capability and embed a proactive safety culture.
8. Incident Investigation & Learning: Lead investigations into incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence and share lessons learned.
9. Performance Monitoring & Metrics: Define and track KPIs and performance metrics to measure EHS effectiveness, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
10. Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with operations, engineering, and leadership teams to integrate EHS considerations into the Site Services strategy and decision-making.
The experience we’re looking to add to our team:
11. NEBOSH National General Certificate or NEBOSH Construction Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety is essential; NEBOSH Level 5 Diploma preferred.
12. Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Engineering, Occupational Health, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
13. Minimum 8 years of progressive EHS leadership experience, ideally within the Electrical or Construction industry, with strong Field Service exposure.
14. Proven ability to develop and execute strategic EHS plans aligned with business objectives, leveraging KPIs and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.
15. Demonstrated success in managing and coaching high-performing teams across the EMEA region, fostering accountability and measurable results.
16. Experience managing complex product portfolios and bespoke projects with varying timelines, ensuring compliance and operational excellence.
17. Exceptional strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and implement proactive solutions.
18. Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, capable of negotiating and driving positive outcomes across diverse stakeholders.
19. Innovative mindset with a track record of implementing cost-saving initiatives and efficiency improvements.
20. Comprehensive knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards, Safety and Health legal requirements, Environmental regulations, and emergency preparedness frameworks.
21. Flexibility to travel extensively across the EMEA region.
