We are currently seeking an Asphalt Development Technician to join our team.
As an Asphalt Development Technician, you will be responsible for assisting in the design, development, and innovation of bituminous and asphalt materials.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out material designs and performance testing on asphalt products for internal and external stakeholders.
* Conduct performance testing and identify areas for improvement.
* Liaise with clients regarding material design requirements.
* Coordinate work schedules for maximum efficiency.
* Provide weekly reports to Technical Management.
* Assist with general laboratory duties as required.
* Maintain a safe, tidy workspace and ensure laboratory efficiency.
* Follow quality procedures and protocols to maintain standards.
* Record sample details on test sheets and software.
* Calibrate testing equipment.
* Prepare for inspections from accrediting bodies.
* Perform daily laboratory equipment checks.
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
* Understanding of asphalt materials and production/installation techniques.
* Flexibility in working patterns.
* Physical ability for sampling and handling materials.
* Ability to operate mechanical equipment like asphalt coring drills.
* Full driving license and capability to operate a small commercial van.
* Enjoy interacting with internal and external stakeholders and auditors.
* Ability to handle paperwork efficiently.
* Strong planning, organizing, and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work independently.
