Applications are invited for Locum Consultant Dermatologists to join the Dermatology Department at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. We have two positions available: a 6 PA post based at St Mary’s Hospital and a 7 PA post based at Charing Cross Hospital.

We are seeking dynamic, forward-looking clinicians to join our cohesive team of thirteen consultants within a cross-site department committed to outpatient transformation, digitalisation and modernisation. Successful candidates will contribute to high-quality dermatology services across the Trust and work within a supportive, progressive environment.

Applicants must be on the GMC Specialist Register for Dermatology, or be within six months of obtaining their Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or equivalent at the time of interview.

Start date: 29th January 2026

Contract Duration: 12 months

Main duties of the job

Clinical work will be divided between outpatient clinics (general, skin cancer, eczema), teledermatology sessions, and skin surgery. Additional clinical roles include review of inpatients, attendance at multidisciplinary skin cancer meetings, and a monthly Complex Medical Dermatology clinic. Non-clinical time will be allocated to maintain professional development. 1. ·Provide high quality care to dermatology patients
2. ·Contribute to the day-to-day running and management of the dermatology department
3. ·Clinical and educational supervision of junior doctors
4. ·Provide high quality teaching to undergraduates and postgraduates
5. ·Enhance the research profile of the department
6. ·Contribute to effective clinical governance
7. ·Participate in strategy and business planning
8. ·Demonstrate leadership and team-working skills

Qualifications

Essential criteria

9. On GMC’s register with a Licence to Practice or eligible to apply for GMC registration and a Licence to Practice
10. On GMC’s Specialist Register or within six months of being admitted to the register by the date of the interviews or eligible for specialist registration
11. Membership of the Royal College of Physicians or equivalent

Knowledge/ Skills

Essential criteria

12. General Dermatology, Paediatric Dermatology, Dermato-oncology Skin surgery skills
13. IT Skills and computer literacy

Leadership/Management Skills

Essential criteria

14. Able to take responsibility, show leadership, make decisions, exert appropriate authority
15. Have proven skills in leading, motivating, developing and managing the performance of colleagues.
16. Knowledge of finance/budgets
17. Management of staff

Teaching/Training

Essential criteria

18. Experience of teaching and training undergraduates/postgraduates and junior medical staff

20. Evidence of achievement appropriate to appointment at consultant level at ICHT.
