We’re looking for a proactive and passionateHealth & Safety Adviser to join our Dunedin-based team supporting Hospital Specialist Services. Starting ASAP and working through until October 2025, this contract role offers the opportunity to contribute to essential safety initiatives while gaining valuable experience in a dynamic healthcare environment.
This role is working four days a week and require on-site presence
What You’ll Be Doing:
* Lead with care: Triaging and reviewing Safety 1st reports, and leading investigations into significant health and safety events.
* Drive improvement: Support the implementation and closure of corrective action plans to strengthen safety outcomes.
* Empower teams: Coordinate Health & Safety Representatives and facilitate engaging forum meetings.
* Maintain excellence: Contribute to the AEP Audit Programme, including conducting audits and ensuring follow-through on corrective actions.
* Be the safety voice: Represent H&S perspectives at operational meetings.
* Promote best practice: Assist departments with rolling out new policies and procedures.
* Deliver insights: Support monthly reporting requirements to keep stakeholders informed and engaged.
What We’re Looking For:
* Proven experience in health and safety advisory roles – ideally in healthcare or high-risk industries.
* Strong investigative and reporting skills.
* Confident communicator and facilitator with a proactive, can-do attitude.
* A relevant qualification in Health & Safety is desirable.
