Environmental Coordinator – Nuclear Restoration Services Limited (NRS)
National Development Authority (NDA) group subsidiary focused on decommissioning first‑generation nuclear power stations and research sites across the UK.
We are recruiting an Environmental Coordinator for the Hinkley Point A site, a Magnox nuclear power plant. The role focuses on implementing and improving environmental management arrangements and ensuring compliance with permits, legislation and company policies.
Key Deliverables
* Develop and maintain environmental statutory arrangements and company requirements, including non‑RSA waste disposals.
* Provide authoritative advice on environmental and waste issues.
* Produce and maintain Environmental Impact Assessments under EIAD regulations.
* Maintain ISO 14001 certification and other regulatory approvals.
* Manage the Site Improvement Plan for environmental management.
* Support implementation of environmental and waste arrangements across the site and projects.
* Support land contamination plans as required.
* Ensure professional development and training of EHSS&Q staff.
* Communicate effectively within the environmental function.
* Monitor performance, provide advice and drive improvements.
* Adapt to site head instructions and emergency scheme participation as needed.
* Support continuous improvement of health, safety, environmental and quality on site.
* Maintain accurate records for statutory and company requirements.
* Provide transport and material consent advice where applicable.
Qualifications and Experience
* Educated to NQF Level 6 / NVQ Level 6 or equivalent in a related subject (essential).
* Detailed knowledge of relevant non‑rad environmental legislation (essential).
* Experience in environmental compliance, monitoring and protection (essential).
* Membership of a relevant professional institute (essential).
* Experience at a nuclear site (desirable).
* Knowledge of ISO/International standards (desirable).

Additional Information
Requires security clearance or ability to obtain it. The role must be based within commute distance to the site; flexibility exists for central or multi‑site positions.
