We are currently looking for a Shift Patroller to join our friendly team on site at Tunstead Quarry based in Buxton, Derbyshire. This role is easily commutable from Buxton, Macclesfield, Stockport, Dronfield, Manchester, Sheffield, Chesterfield, Leek, Stoke-on-Trent and the surrounding areas.

Main Responsibilities
As the successful candidate for the role of Shift Patroller, your main responsibilities will be (not exhaustive):
1. Patrol the Stone processing plants and associated equipment to monitor performance and identify any issues that could have an impact on availability whilst supporting the Lead Operators to meet shift KPI targets - this is carried out primarily on foot; so you are the eyes and ears of production
2. You will also assist with all relevant functions that may be required to help the Stone section operate effectively and efficiently
Other responsibilities include for the role:
3. Complying with and be actively involved in Tarmac SHE procedures, working in a safe manner ensuring zero injuries / incidents involving you or team members
4. Support the operation of processing plants and react to any performance or availability issues as advised by the Shift Supervisor
5. Carry out scheduled plant inspections and report detail to required standard
6. Carry out diagnostic / proactive inspections and assist in mechanical repairs to minimise any subsequent downtime and optimise plant and equipment
7. Complete a shift report detailing any activities completed and any problems encountered with plant or equipment
8. Maintain efficient operation and accuracy of processing plant conveyor belts including scrapers and tracking
9. Assist with planned Mechanical maintenance activities in line with daily schedules
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate for the role of Shift Patroller will be able to demonstrate proven experience working within an Industrial, Factory or similar environment as an operative or labourer. As well as possessgood communication skills and have a real desire in developing both operative and supervisory skills.
Other requirements:
10. Good knowledge of crushing, screening and washing processes
11. Capable of operating all mobile plant required to operate the Roadstone plant effectively and efficiently
12. Capability to cover other roles within the Stone Section Process team
13. Use of PC’s and capability to use common applications and company systems
14. Fault finding ability to identify defects and recommend appropriate action
15. Good practical knowledge and experience of maintenance systems
16. Working knowledge of plant and machinery
17. Basic report writing
