Position: Medical Equipment Technician
As a Medical Equipment Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe delivery, setup, and education of home medical equipment for our valued customers. Your work will take you into homes, long-term care settings, clinics, and more, making a direct impact on patient care.
Your Responsibilities:
* Stay updated on current HME products and services, as well as relevant regulations.
* Educate customers on the proper use and care of respiratory and HME equipment.
* Complete necessary documentation following equipment setup, delivery, or pickups.
* Assist customers with equipment issues, especially in emergency situations.
* Process orders accurately and in a timely manner.
* Promote our services and products to community referral sources.
* Document all information needed for reimbursement of equipment and services.
* Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery.
* Maintain home oxygen systems through regular customer visits.
* Safely operate and maintain the company vehicle.
* Conduct patient assessments and re-assessments for ongoing care.
* Perform routine maintenance and simple repairs on equipment.
* Report any equipment hazards or incidents as per company policy.
* Adhere to safety procedures, including the use of PPE and infection control.
* Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA guidelines.
* Complete assigned compliance training and educational programs.
* Keep equipment clean and well-maintained as directed.
* Take on additional duties as assigned.
What We’re Looking For:
* Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
* Experience: Entry-level sales or customer service experience is essential. One year of related experience in military, delivery, or healthcare is preferred. Senior-level candidates should have two years of work-related experience and one year in a similar role.
* License: Valid and unrestricted driver's license in your state.
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
* Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly, and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
* Comfortable with stretching, bending, and performing moderate to heavy physical labor.
* Willingness to drive for extended periods and navigate various environments.
* Ability to handle stressful situations and maintain composure.
* Exposure to various home conditions, including unsanitary environments and potential hazards.
* Must be able to communicate effectively and demonstrate empathy and respect for privacy.
