We are currently seeking a proactive and experienced Temporary Accommodation Team Leader to join a busy and committed housing service within a South London local authority. This is a key leadership role within the Temporary Accommodation service, responsible for ensuring the operational delivery of either the TA Placement or TA Management team. You'll lead a team of officers delivering high-quality, efficient services that meet the Council's statutory duties under Part VII of the Housing Act 1996, as well as other temporary accommodation responsibilities. Working closely with the TA Service Manager, you'll take ownership of day-to-day service delivery, performance monitoring, contract compliance, and staff supervision - all while ensuring that residents receive safe, suitable, and sustainable accommodation options. Key Responsibilities: ·Lead the day-to-day operations of the TA Placement or TA Management team ·Ensure timely allocation of temporary accommodation based on client needs and demand ·Oversee the use and quality of the Council's TA portfolio, ensuring contractual compliance ·Manage staff performance and resources to deliver against service targets ·Monitor provider contracts, address non-compliance, and escalate issues as needed ·Work collaboratively across housing services to prevent homelessness and reduce TA usage ·Support the development of new schemes and partnerships with landlords and providers About You: ·Strong working knowledge of housing legislation, especially Part VII of the Housing Act 1996 ·Proven experience managing teams in a housing or local authority setting ·Ability to monitor performance, manage contracts, and drive service improvements ·Excellent communication and problem-solving skills ·Experience working in partnership with landlords, internal services, and external agencies How to Apply If you are interested in this role and meet the criteria above, please send us your application today.
