This is a "standing start" hunter role designed for a specialist who doesn't wait for the phone to ring. You will be the architect of commercial growth, responsible for the full sales lifecycle—from aggressive cold-prospecting and market mapping to closing high-value industrial and commercial contracts. They provide the technical expertise and the Tier-1 platform; you provide the drive, the strategy, and the autonomous lead generation required to dominate the regional market. Based at their Cramlington headquarters, you won't be chained to a desk. You will have the autonomy to be out in the field, meeting decision-makers and business owners across the North East and occasionally across the UK. This role is for a professional who thrives on the variety of strategic planning in the office and high-stakes, face-to-face negotiation on-site. Responsibilities * Self-Generate Pipeline: Proactively identify and qualify B2B Solar PV leads through cold outreach, networking, and market mapping (no reliance on inbound leads). * Field Presence: Travel to conduct site visits with the primary focus on the North East (with occasional UK-wide travel) deliver presentations, and build face-to-face rapport with decision-makers. * Full Sales Lifecycle: Manage the journey from the first "cold" contact through to the technical survey and final contract signing. * Identify and pursue new business opportunities through market research and networking. * Develop and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing clients. * Prepare and deliver compelling presentations to potential clients. * Collaborate with internal teams to tailor solutions that meet client needs. * Manage sales pipelines effectively using CRM software. * Track and report on sales activities, pipeline status, and market trends. * Attend industry events and conferences to promote the organisation’s services. * Assist in the development of strategic plans to expand the organisation’s market presence. * Identify suitable roof-mounted and ground-mounted solar installations. * Prepare clear, commercial proposals showing energy savings, ROI and payback. * Work closely with technical and delivery teams to ensure projects are viable. * Attend industry events and networking opportunities. * Maintain and report on a structured sales pipeline. Skills * Proven experience in sales generation and/or business development roles, preferably within the solar or renewables sector. * Proficiency in CRM software for managing client information and sales pipelines. * Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal. * Ability to analyse market data and generate actionable insights. * Self-motivated with a proactive approach to achieving targets. * Knowledge of industry trends and competitive landscape is advantageous.
