Job Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Immunotherapy Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our immunotherapy team at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre. This role is based at the Clatterbridge Cancer Centre, Liverpool, however you will be required to travel between our network hospital sites. The post holder will support the immunotherapy team delivering nurse‑led services for patients receiving treatment with immunotherapy.
You should possess excellent communication and advanced clinical skills, be highly motivated and ideally have a background in cancer nursing. Recent experience in working within the speciality of immunotherapy would be essential. You will need to be resilient and able to influence in order to cope with the demands of the role and the service need. The post holder will provide specialist advice and support to patients experiencing the side effects associated with immunotherapy, as well as providing education and support to staff throughout the trust.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide specialist advice and support to patients experiencing the side effects associated with immunotherapy.
* Deliver education and support to staff throughout the trust.
* Coordinate and support the delivery of day‑case management including IV methylprednisolone and infliximab.
* Deliver acute reviews in the central Clinical Decisions Unit.
* Conduct weekly ambulatory clinics for complex toxicity management.
* Support clinical advisory meetings with regional AO teams.

Education and Qualifications
* MSc in Advanced Nursing Practice/ACP
* Recognised Leadership Qualification
* Non‑medical prescribing qualification with portfolio supporting attainment of competency
* Post‑basic qualification in cancer/palliative care or relevant subject
* Registered General Nurse
* Evidence of continued professional development – Advanced Communications Skills Training, previous chemotherapy experience
* Experience of working in an oncology setting; recognised teaching qualification
* Advanced Life Support qualification (only ANPs who participate in MET cover)
* IO needle insertion (Only ANPs who participate in MET cover)
Desirable
* Psychological skills training – Level 2 training
* Research qualification
Essential Knowledge
* Highly motivated and experienced practitioner with substantial experience within cancer care
* Broad & advanced knowledge of clinical pathophysiology
* Sound level of knowledge in relation to invasive and non‑invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
* Knowledge of national standards, policies and working knowledge of clinical governance
* Understanding of evidence‑based practice and ability to critically appraise and implement research findings into practice
* In‑depth specialist experience within the specialty field
* Knowledge to support safe clinical decision‑making in relation to admission and discharge
Experience
* Experience of writing policies and procedures
* Proven leadership experience including delivering to targets, change initiatives and service improvement
* Leadership and mentoring skills to energise the team and motivate individuals
* Extensive post‑registration experience with recent experience at a senior level
* Working autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team
* Experience of participation in research and audit; ability to influence and develop clinical services
* Demonstrates current knowledge of professional and NHS issues and the implication for clinical environment
* Enthusiasm and drive to improve practice through education and training
* Committed to continuing professional development of self and others
