We are excited to offer a Theatre Technician Apprentice position within the RSC's esteemed technical team in Stratford-upon-Avon. This is your chance to dive into the world of theatre and develop hands-on skills in four essential backstage areas: Lighting, Sound, Stage & Props, and Automation.
This apprenticeship is a fantastic opportunity to gain practical experience and understand how shows come to life. Over the course of this 2-year program, you will work towards achieving a Level 3 apprenticeship, blending work-based learning with coursework to unlock your potential.
Your Responsibilities
As a Theatre Technician Apprentice, you will:
* Gain hands-on experience in Lighting, Sound, Stage & Props, and Automation.
* Train and work in each department, building core technical knowledge.
* Specialize in one area during the final six months of your apprenticeship.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria:
* No degree, HND, or postgraduate qualification.
* No extensive professional backstage experience.
* Reside in the UK or EEA for the last 3 years.
* Be 18 years old or over on the start date.
* Have a genuine interest in theatre or live events.
* Be self-motivated to learn and grow.

Working Conditions
This is a full-time, fixed-term contract for the duration of the 2-year apprenticeship. You will work:
* 40 hours per week, including evenings and weekends.
* One day a week dedicated to off-the-job training with your training provider.
