School and Governor Support (S&GS) is part of Birmingham City Council’s Children and Families Directorate.
Job Overview
S&GS is seeking to recruit a School Support Manager, you will be responsible for the effective and efficient management of professional support, assistance, and advice to all subscribing maintained school and academy leaders including governors, across all phases of education.
Key Responsibilities
* Effective and efficient management of professional support, assistance and advice to all subscribing maintained school and academy leaders including governors, across all phases of education.
* Developing and implementing strategy and policy in relation to the management and organisation of schools in all phases and settings and working with other services and agencies to ensure continuous school improvement in all phases.
* Liaising with Legal Services and other agencies with regard to schools and the law and leading the resolution of leadership and management issues as they affect senior staff, governors, parents and other stakeholders of the school.
* Playing a full role in the intervention and targeted support for schools causing concern in line with local authority policy and taking an active lead in school governance including their training, development, recruitment and retention.
* Providing support and guidance to all members of the team in their provision of professional support and advice to schools.
