Regulatory Conduct Officer, Belfast | Hybrid Working | Public Sector | £35,896 £43,495 DOE Excellent Benefits. Are you a detail-driven legal professional with experience in investigations, regulatory matters, or complaints handling? A highly respected public sector body in Belfast is seeking a Regulatory Conduct Officer to join their Professional Conduct team. The Role You will be responsible for investigating complaints, assessing solicitor conduct cases, and contributing to the organisations regulatory processes. This is a varied and interesting role, ideal for someone with excellent analytical skills and a sound understanding of professional standards. Key Responsibilities Include: Investigating and responding to complaints under relevant legislation Conducting assessments and recommending potential resolutions Preparing case materials and presenting findings to senior committees Managing complex and sensitive caseloads Liaising with the public, solicitors, and third parties via phone and written correspondence Drafting formal documents and reports, and contributing to internal procedures Supporting tribunal processes and guiding external legal representatives Maintaining accurate case records and contributing to statistical reporting What Youll Need Essential: A Law degree and at least 2 years relevant experience OR 5 years relevant experience (to include formal investigation work) Strong communication, organisation, and time management skills High attention to detail and sound analytical judgement Ability to manage caseloads and prioritise under pressure Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general IT systems Desirable: Experience working in a regulatory or legal standards environment A relevant qualification in investigation or complaints handling Whats On Offer Salary : £35,896 £43,495 (dependent on experience) Holidays : 25 days bank/public holidays Private Medical Insurance from day one Employer Pension Contribution of 10% Death in Service benefit (4x salary) Comprehensive Health & Wellbeing Support including Virtual GP, mental health services, income protection, and more Flexible/hybrid working Perks : Cycle to Work, Tech Scheme, and staff discounts with a range of local providers This is an exciting and rewarding opportunity to contribute to the regulation of legal professionals in Northern Ireland.
