Legal Aid Billing Clerk, Permanent, £25,000 - £35,000, Manchester, Interviewing ASAP!
Forrest Recruitment are working alongside an established, respected law firm in the
Manchester area. They are seeking a Legal Aid Billing Clerk to support their busy team. The successful candidate will be reporting directly to the Practice Director and providing vital support in managing billing processes. This role is a fully office-based position and working the hours of 9:00am
5pm Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare claims using the firms billing systems
Maintain accurate records and outstanding claim spreadsheets
Collaborate with fee earners to ensure LGFS tabs and WIP reports are current
Process and submission of cases, claims and other legal administration
Generate various types of bills
Post client payments and ensure ledger/WIP accuracy
Manage concluded file archiving and retrieval
Coordinate file destruction schedules with Practice Director
Open and update new files, including diary entries for court dates
General administration tasks such as supporting the accounts manager, providing reception and phone cover when needed and supporting client hospitality.
The ideal candidate will have experience in legal billing, familiarity with Legal Aid processes, have strong attention to detail, a proactive approach and excellent communication skills.
