Job Title: Depot Mechanical Engineer Location: Sherburn In Elmet Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week (overtime available) £25,600 - £28,288 depending on experience. Job Overview We are looking for a skilled and proactive Depot Engineer to join our Major Repairs Team. This role plays a vital part in maintaining and refurbishing a range of depot equipment to the highest standards. The successful candidate will bring technical expertise, a methodical approach to repairs, and a strong sense of responsibility within a dynamic and collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities Repairs & Maintenance Diagnose faults and undertake major in-house repairs on various types of equipment. Conduct planned and preventative maintenance to ensure all equipment remains operational. Manage and maintain accurate stock levels of spare parts and materials. Log all parts used via the mobile tablet system for accurate record-keeping. Job Processing & Reporting Accurately process and update job details and repair statuses using the works mobile tablet. Support Across Sites Provide flexible support to other depots or operational areas when required. Workplace Maintenance Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment always. Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and health & safety regulations. Assist with additional tasks or projects as directed by the Foreman or Depot Manager. Candidate Requirements Proven experience in a similar equipment repair and maintenance role. High attention to detail with a commitment to delivering quality work. Strong communication skills and ability to liaise effectively with colleagues and management. Capable of working both independently and as part of a team. Proactive and solution-focused approach to tasks. Experience using mobile tablet systems for job tracking and reporting. Background in a similar industry or experience with specialist equipment.
