Job Overview
To support management of the daily functions and activities and to provide leadership for all operational areas within the Warehouse. To ensure high standards of work practices
Main Responsibilities:
The role-holder will be required to be responsible for and undertake the following tasks:
* Assisting in the effective utilization of resources ensuring that all operational areas achieve the KPI's set by the Warehouse Manager and the needs of the business.
* Ensuring that product is processed through the operational areas to documented processes to retain quality, traceability and prevent contamination whilst maintaining departmental goals.
* Ensuring that Health & Safety in all operational areas is a core focus, complying with working practices, risk assessments and that all accidents/incidents and near misses are reported, investigated, reviewed and that issues are resolved at root cause to safeguard personnel and operational areas.
* Supervising all staff under your direct or indirect control. To train and monitor staff in standard operating procedures and safe working practices including new employee inductions and training.
* Ensuring accurate information is communicated in a timely and effective manner across all areas of the business. To cultivate contact with customers, hauliers, depots etc
* Making decisions at short notice and deliver effective solutions.
* To assist in the development of a team focused on cleanliness and other good practices.
* The security of company premises by reporting any non-conformances, unauthorised personnel, ensuring all fire exits are clearly marked and easily accessible, ensuring all safety doors are closed.
* Adapting to the changing requirements of the production day adopting a flexible approach to changing duties and activities as required or directed and promoting such culture in other staff.
* To provide leadership and support, guiding and directing staff and providing a point of contact for their concerns or issues.

Job Context/Environment
* Warehouse based
* Core working hours, on a shift system
* Requirement to work additional shifts to cover for holidays & sickness, these are classed as overtime shifts
* Flexibility is expected during peak periods e.g. Christmas, Valentine's Day, Mothers' Day, Easter etc.
* Working to strict deadlines in a time-critical environment Working in a cold environment for extended periods of time
* Work involves lifting and carrying boxes of product in excess of 20kg Work involves lifting boxes up and down from the height of a stack of product in excess of two metres
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: From £15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 33 – 44 per week
