Senior Electrical Operations Manager
Equans is looking for a Senior Electrical Operations Manager to join our team in Edinburgh on a permanent basis. This full‑time role requires 40 working hours per week and offers a competitive salary, company vehicle or allowance, bonus and benefits package.
Responsibilities
* Oversee the provision of services to The Royal Hospital for Children and Young People, ensuring effective management of daily operations and coordination of electrical service delivery and compliance.
* Deliver Hard FM services and manage specialist subcontractors.
* Formulate operational strategies interfacing with the client for educational properties and services.
* Manage daily operations and coordinate electrical service delivery and compliance.
* Provide guidance, coaching, and mentoring to junior staff, fostering their professional development.
* Produce accurate technical reports related to electrical system installations, maintenance, and repairs.
* Perform PPM and RPM tasks assigned through Maximo or other systems, sign off completed work and report issues to the shift lead.
* Provide clear direction, objectives, and expectations to staff; review performance, give feedback, and recognise achievements.

Qualifications
* Previous managerial experience of a PFI/BSF contract within the health environment or similar.
* People‑management experience, including ability to lead a team.
* Experience with HR procedures, absence and performance management.
* Knowledge of the commercial aspects of an FM contract.
* Membership of a professional body (e.g., BIFM, CIBSE, IAM, IET).
* Excellent communication skills for interacting with all staff.
* Proven experience as a Senior Electrical Technician or similar role in a healthcare environment.
* Strong knowledge of SHTM (Scottish Healthcare Technical Memorandum), PPMs and SLAs.
* Excellent understanding of engineering building services installation and maintenance techniques.
* Demonstrated leadership and mentoring skills with the ability to coach and develop junior staff.
