The School of Health Sciences at UNSW is rapidly expanding to service education agendas based on our four groundbreaking health professional education programs.
Why this role matters: UNSW’s Education Focused roles enable academics to specialise in education and devote their time to delivering high-quality teaching and pursuing initiatives to enhance the educational experience of our students.
The Lecturer / Senior lecturer in exercise science / exercise physiology (clinical education) will be primarily responsible for experiential learning (clinical placements) throughout the exercise science and exercise physiology program.
Key Skills Required:
* A PhD in a related discipline, and/or relevant work experience
* Accreditation with Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA) as an Accredited Exercise Scientist and Accredited Exercise Physiologist
* Knowledge and experience in clinical areas relevant to the practice of exercise science and exercise physiology and the ability to deliver appropriate client care
* Actively stays up to date with discipline knowledge and professional development
* Knowledge and experience of exercise science and exercise physiology practicum/placement requirements
* Demonstrated experience in clinical teaching and assessment at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level
* Evidence of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence
* Demonstrated knowledge of industry or experience of work-integrated learning (desirable)
* Evidence of highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills
* Evidence of ability to support and inspire students from diverse backgrounds and support student equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives
Additional requirements for Level C:
* Advanced clinical knowledge and the ability to deliver excellence in client-centred care
* Evidence of professional development of teaching practice in self and others with the ability to advance and lead an inclusive culture of excellence in learning and teaching.
* Demonstrated success in initiating curriculum development and improvement.
