Overview
Associate Power Generation Development Specialist (Energy) at WSP in the UK & Ireland. The role leads and delivers Project Development from concept to construction start for Thermal Power Generation projects (CCGT, OCGT, Engine Based and Repower), collaborating with client operations, maintenance teams, owners and investors on asset portfolios to inform critical development decisions.
What you will do
* Lead and deliver Project Development from concept through construction start for thermal power projects across multiple geographies.
* Assess technical and commercial risks of projects within a multi-disciplinary team and advise clients on risk management to deliver successful projects.
* Collaborate with owners, operators and investors to independently assess asset performance and configuration (gas/steam turbines, boilers and related equipment) for capability, risk and opportunities.
* Advise on asset related contracts including Construction, Operations and Maintenance, Connection and Long Term Service Support; assess plant performance and identify issues that may cause degradation or failure.
* Prepare technical notes and reports for stakeholders; author multi-disciplinary proposals and bids for the Energy Business.
* Lead, advise and negotiate on technical matters, acting on behalf of the Client, Lenders and/or WSP as required.
* Develop multi-disciplinary proposals and bids for the Energy Business.
What we are looking for
* Degree qualification in a relevant Engineering subject with significant post-graduate experience (minimum 10 years) in engineering consultancy, project development, operation and maintenance.
* Chartered Engineer and a member of a relevant Engineering Institute.
* Ability and desire to take a lead role in asset assessment under development, construction or operation.
* Knowledge of EPC and LTSA arrangements for power generation projects.
* Willingness to travel to client sites and other regional WSP offices to support projects.
