Advert Teacher Hearing Impaired Dumfries and Galloway Teacher Scale £33,594 - £50,589 The Hearing-Impaired Service are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Teacher of the Deaf to the team. This post is offered on a permanent basis and is peripatetic in nature. Although based in Dumfries, the postholder will work in schools across Dumfries and Galloway. Applications are welcomed from those looking for both full and part time hours. Applicants must have extended teaching experience, preferably with pupils with additional support needs and be committed to removing barriers to learning for deaf learners and pupils with hearing impairment. Applicants must be GTCS registered with an ASN qualification and BSL Level 2 or a commitment to undertake this qualification and further relevant training. Applicants for teaching posts must be registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland, Clerwood House, 96 Clermiston Road, Edinburgh, EH12 6UT in the appropriate sector. This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.
