Full time (37.5 hours). The role requires working a variety of shifts covering a 24‑hour rota to deliver effective service.
We are looking for highly motivated and enthusiastic call handlers to support a large number of multidisciplinary services, including mental health, physical health and neurodiversity. As an apprentice, you will receive Level 2 training alongside working experience to obtain a nationally recognised qualification.
The first point of contact for our service users and other professionals, you will need to have excellent customer service skills and a helpful, friendly approach. You must be able to work effectively in a fast‑paced office environment, handling large volumes of telephone calls, some of which may be challenging and emotive. Flexibility and adaptability to varying demands, changing circumstances and priorities of the services are essential. Communication and team working are also key.
You should be able to use a PC and standard software packages including Outlook, Microsoft Word and Excel. Experience with SystmOne is desirable but not essential – training will be provided.
Desirable requirements: at least 5 GCSEs, including Grade C or above in English and Mathematics or equivalent, and experience in a call handling environment or the NHS.
Please note this is primarily an office‑based role which may, on occasion, require agile/home working.

Qualifications
* Demonstrable literacy and numeracy skills to functional level 1 or equivalent.
* NVQ Level 2 in a related subject or equivalent, or willingness to undertake a relevant Level 2 Apprenticeship.
* GCSE Grade C or above or Functional Level 2 or equivalent in English and Maths.
Experience
* IT skills in Microsoft Office Packages or equivalent experience.
Knowledge
* Understand importance of maintaining confidentiality.
Skills/Abilities
* Good interpersonal skills.
* Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
* Awareness and understanding of the requirement for discretion and confidentiality.
* Ability to relay correct messages, both verbally and in writing.
