Job Description3 Month Contract With A Local AuthorityJob PurposeTo provide high-quality administrative support to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the service. The role requires flexibility, attention to detail, and the ability to manage financial processes and data with accuracy. The Administrative Assistant will play a vital role in supporting the team through timely processing of orders, invoice payments, and accurate record-keeping, with a particular focus on Housing Benefit and Asylum Seeker payments.Key Duties and ResponsibilitiesProcess orders and arrange prompt payment of invoices, BACS payments, and limit ordersOperate and manage petty cash accountsMaintain accurate financial records related to Housing Benefit and Asylum Seeker paymentsAssist with completing and submitting Home Office Asylum Seeker returnsEnsure the timely and accurate updating of databases and information systemsCarry out general administrative duties as required to ensure the smooth running of the serviceRespond flexibly and positively to changing service demands and prioritiesCommunicate effectively with colleagues, service users, and external partnersSupport team members and contribute to a positive working environmentEssential Experience and SkillsProven experience working in an administrative roleExperience in processing financial transactions and working with figuresStrong verbal and written communication skillsExperience maintaining and updating databases accuratelyAbility to work independently and as part of a teamCapable of meeting deadlines and working to agreed standardsFlexible and adaptable approach to changing workloadsCustomer-focused attitude with a commitment to high-quality serviceUnderstanding of staff motivation and team support principlesAdditional Information to NoteWorking Hours: 37 Per WeekEnhanced DBS is Required For This Role
