Behaviour Support Manager – Secondary School – Newport

Location: Newport
Job Title: Behaviour Support Manager
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
Pay: £110 – £120 per day
Start Date: ASAP – ongoing through the 2026 academic year

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting a Behaviour Support Manager to join one of our partner secondary schools in Newport. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of students who need extra guidance and care within the classroom environment.

About the Role

As a Behaviour Support Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining a calm, positive, and engaging learning environment. You will oversee a classroom in the absence of the teacher, ensure students stay focused on pre-set work, and implement effective behaviour management strategies to promote positive conduct.

Key Responsibilities

* Supervise students in the absence of their regular teacher.
* Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
* Distribute and monitor completion of pre-prepared learning materials.
* Provide emotional and academic support to students as needed.
* Collaborate closely with teaching staff and senior leadership to ensure a consistent approach to behaviour management.

* Behaviour Management Expertise: Knowledge of positive reinforcement and classroom management strategies.

Requirements

* Enhanced Child-Only DBS Certificate (we can support your application).
* Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
* Two professional references covering the last 24 months.
* Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential – we welcome applicants with transferable skills or personal experience in similar environments.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
