Vacancy Location: Cramlington, Northumberland
Salary / Rate of Pay: £12.25
Contract Type: Term Time, Part-Time, 22 hours weekly (additional hours available during annual leave or sickness cover)
Shift Pattern Available:
* Wednesday 7:15am – 6:45pm
* Thursday 7:15am – 5:45pm
* Possible extra days available
About EC
EC has Cerebral Palsy, uses a wheelchair but can walk short distances with a little assistance. She is quite independent and will ask for support when needed.
She requires support in her home with meal preparation and tidying, as well as assistance to access the community (e.g., going swimming, shopping). EC also requires PA support in her workplace, where she is a college teacher. This includes:
* Helping her access areas and move around the workplace
* Assisting with printouts and organising paperwork
* Supporting with dictation during 1:1 meetings
* Offering emotional support (though EC is generally positive and happy)
Interests: EC enjoys going to the theatre with friends, swimming to stretch her muscles, keeping flowers, and going on holiday. She is friendly, supportive, and values a positive environment.
Role Requirements
* Provide support both in EC's home and in her community.
* Offer PA assistance at her workplace.
* Be flexible to cover additional shifts during holidays/sickness.
* Be able to drive or reliably use public transport for early mornings starts.
What the Role Involves
* Supporting EC with meal preparation and light household tasks.
* Assisting EC with accessing the community (swimming, shopping, outings).
* Providing workplace support including printouts, paperwork, and dictation.
* Being a role model while respecting EC's independence, privacy, and values.
* Ensuring professionalism, punctuality, and attentiveness in all environments.
