We are seeking a skilled and qualified 2391 Roaming Inspection and Testing Engineer to carry out Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICR) in accordance with BS7671. As part of our Electrical Compliance 360 team, you will play a key role in supporting our growing electrical testing team. The role will require you to work on a wide range of electrical installations throughout the UK, focusing on the inspection and testing of low voltage distribution, wiring and containment systems, predominantly in the industrial and manufacturing industry. Completing EICR's using high quality testing equipment and electronic reporting software, ensuring installations conform to the current safety and compliance standards. You will use your technical expertise to identify defects, deviations and potential safety risks, providing clear, accurate reporting and recommendations for remedial works. The position requires a strong knowledge of BS7671, excellent fault‑finding skills, and the ability to work to high standards of quality and professionalism. There is an expectation that you will be available to travel throughout the UK and that you may be required to stay in hotel accommodation when necessary.
Responsibilities
* Completing electrical installation condition reports (EICR), in accordance with the IET wiring regulations BS7671, to systems up to 1000V, including newly installed and modified electrical systems.
* Conduct visual inspections and testing to accurately code defects, with clear justification.
* Produce detailed and accurate EICR's using provided test equipment and electronic reporting software.
* Conduct emergency light testing to BS5266-1.
* Perform and adhere to safe electrical isolation procedures.
* Ensure that all operational procedures, safe working practices, and H&S procedures are followed.
* Complete any reasonable tasks assigned in accordance with your position, with the aim of adding value.
* Read and interpret electrical schematic diagrams and drawings.
* Follow a schedule of works as agreed with adi and our customers.
* Work collaboratively within the adi compliance 360 team and report directly to your dedicated line manager.
Qualifications
* Experience of electrical inspection and testing, completing electrical installation condition reports (EICR).
* Knowledge and understanding of the IET Wiring Regulations (BS7671).
* Experience of testing and inspection in the manufacturing and industrial sector is essential.
* Level 3 Award in Initial and Periodic Electrical Inspection and Testing (2391 or 2394/5).
* 18th edition qualified.
* NVQ Level 3 qualification.
* Full UK Driving License.
* Experience of using thermal imaging test equipment would be beneficial but is not essential.
